African Art & Style

                                                         Beautiful African Vinyago

Another unique’ one of a kind’ handmade original art carving from East Africa depicts bonding/togetherness - 'ujamaa' in  swahili. Intricately carved by traditional Makonde carver from black wood (mpingo), Ujamaa carvings are a a masterpiece. If you have seen hand carved African 'vinyago', you should see these for their beautiful and extremely fine craftsmanship.

AFRICAN PRINT AT NEW YORK FASHION !!

While  African designers may complain of getting little exposure on the international stage, it looks like American designers are certainly paying attention to the happenings on African runways. This year’s most surprising collection came from rocker Gwen Stafani’s label, L.A.M.B., which was a colorful collection of African-print motifs splashed on everything from mini-dresses to tailored suits.
